What's new in 0.7.2

Maintenance release. No user-facing changes. Existing 0.7.1 installs upgrade in place via auto-update.

Fixed

License validation no longer waits indefinitely on slow networks. The pre-existing 0.7.1 timeout fix is hardened with an explicit cap so the UI thread can't be blocked by a stalled HTTPS handshake.
macOS installer payload hygiene. The release workflow now strips development artifacts (.DS_Store, build metadata, stray symlinks) from the signed .pkg before notarization, shaving installer size and removing files Apple's notary service occasionally flagged.
Electron TypeScript build aligned with the bundler. The Electron main-process tsconfig was resolving modules differently from Vite, producing intermittent build warnings on clean checkouts. Both now share a single resolution mode.

Internal

Database: removed unused rawEventBody column from ShadowEventLog. Storage-only schema change; the column was never read by Mission Control or the desktop client.
Refreshed stale seam tests that had drifted against the current preset/license flows.

Common Questions

Why Weather Station instead of direct downloads?

Weather Station is the primary public install path. It handles signed downloads, installs plugins to the right locations, keeps versions straight, and gives Bellweather a cleaner release path than manual ZIP handling. Direct macOS installers can still exist as a secondary path when you prefer a package install.

What formats are supported?

Bellweather currently supports VST3, AU, AAX, and CLAP on macOS. The exact formats available still depend on the product and release you install.

Is Weather Station free?

Yes. Always.

Windows support?
