Help/Ceiling/Metering

Metering

Ceiling separates the history of gain reduction from final-level readouts so you can see both the limiter's movement and the delivered result.

GR lane and waveform

The GR lane runs across the top of the display and shows gain-reduction depth over time. Its visible range is 0 to -12 dB; deeper reduction stays pinned at the bottom of the lane.

The waveform below shows where limiting happened in the program. Read the lane for how much level was removed and the waveform for when it happened.

Meter cluster

IN
Peak level entering the limiter after GAIN.
OUT
True-peak level measured by Ceiling's final enforcement path.
HEAD
Remaining headroom between the current output and the selected ceiling.
HOLD
Highest held true-peak value. Click it to reset the hold.
M / S / I
Momentary, short-term, and integrated loudness readouts.
REL
The base release time for the selected STYLE.

Held and latched values

HOLD and the clip indicator remain visible until reset. Integrated loudness also has a manual reset so a new passage can begin with a clean measurement.
