Release Styles
STYLE selects a calibrated recovery behavior. It changes how Ceiling releases gain reduction after peaks; it is not a saturation or tonal-color selector.
Transparent
The slowest, cleanest recovery.
Use it when preserving movement and avoiding obvious recovery is the priority.
Modern
Balanced recovery and the default starting point.
Use it for broad mastering work before deciding whether the program needs a slower or faster response.
Loud
The fastest and most assertive recovery.
Use it when density and quick recovery matter, then watch the GR lane for repeated or excessive limiting.
Safe
The gentlest, most program-protective recovery.
Use it for material that benefits from a deliberately slower response and restrained movement.
Using RELEASE
RELEASE scales the selected style rather than replacing it. Start at x1.00. Move toward x0.50 for faster recovery or x2.00 for slower recovery, then listen through more than one peak. Each style remains inside its designed operating range.
Choose by movement
Judge the release by how the program breathes between peaks. A louder or denser result is not automatically the better setting; use UNITY when level differences distract from the recovery shape.
