Quick Start
Install Ceiling using the shared installation guide, then use this first-session workflow.
- 1
Place Ceiling near the end of the chain
Insert Ceiling after processors that raise level or change peaks. Check any processing that follows it before relying on the final output.
- 2
Choose the output ceiling
Start at the default -1.0 dBTP or select a delivery preset. CEILING sets the true-peak limit; it does not decide how hard the limiter is driven.
- 3
Raise GAIN gradually
Play the loudest part of the program and increase GAIN until the GR lane shows the amount of limiting you want. Back off if the result loses too much punch or movement.
- 4
Choose a release style
Begin with Modern. Try Transparent, Loud, and Safe as different recovery behaviors, then make a smaller adjustment with RELEASE if needed.
- 5
Compare and verify
Use UNITY for a more useful level-matched comparison. Check OUT, HOLD, and the clip indicator through the full passage, then verify the final signal after any downstream processing.
A quiet passage may not limit
Little or no gain reduction is expected when the signal stays below the selected ceiling. GAIN is the transparent input drive for bringing the program into the limiter.
